Rules of Play
General Rules
- All players may only touch the Ball with the Protected areas of the body: the elbows to fists and knees to feet. All other areas of the body are Unprotected.
- When a Player is touched by the Ball in an Unprotected area, play stops, the opposing team gains a point, and the Player must enter play with the ball from the Reach.
Beginning Play
- All Players begin at the Reach of the Dome.
- To start play, the referee or youngest player Serves to the center of the Dome and all Players enter.
Service
- Standing anywhere at the Reach, the player steps into the Dome while holding the ball and Active Play begins.
- A delay of game for ten seconds constitutes as a penalty.
Active Play
- During Active Play, all players may hit the ball with Protected areas of the body at any time and anywhere in the Dome.
- If any player in the Dome touches the Ball with an Unprotected area, Active Play stops, Active Play begins immediately once the Serving Player enters the Dome.
- Points that are scored by a Player striking the ball with a Protected area directly at the Unprotected area of the opponent count as 2 points. All other Unprotected area hits count as 1 point.
- Any player may also pick up the Ball or Line. This is called Holding.
