Duel Dome
Any time a Penalty is committed, Active Play stops and a Penalty Match is played in the Duel Dome: A 7.5 foot radius dome with a Line the same length.
The player who is being penalized (the Rulebreaker) starts inside the Duel Dome.
The opposing player who was penalized against (the Target), or a chosen player from their team (the Avenger) if the Target wishes someone else to play for them or if there is no Target, starts outside the Duel Dome with the Ball and enters the Dome to begin Active Play.
In a Duel Dome match all the rules regarding Protected and Unprotected areas remain the same. However, the Line and the Ball cannot be held with open hands. All forms of Holding are illegal and result in a loss of match.
Tangling is legal but if the Line makes any full circle around any part of the body, it results in a loss of match. Trapping of the ball with the fists or other body parts adheres to the same rules as in the larger game.
Active Play with Protected areas of the body for the two opponents continues until an Unprotected area is hit. If the Target or Avenger is hit, the Penalty is dropped, the scores remain the same, Duel Dome is over, and the Ball is served by the Target Team into Active Play in the larger dome. If the Rulebreaker is hit, it is added to the Target Team’s total, Duel Dome ends, and they also gain service of the Ball.
